Friday Night at the Movies
Billed as a romantic dark fantasy/sci-fi drama, the Academy Award winner, The Shape of Water, is the February movie. Set in a 1962 military research center in Baltimore, the story revolves around Elisa Esposito, a mute cleaning woman played by Sally Hawkins, and her friend and interpreter Zelda Fuller, played by Octavia Spencer. Elisa stumbles upon a secret, highly classified experiment involving an otherwordly creature, and her world turns upside down.
Film expert Sue Thornquist will present this film and lead the discussion. Sign up soon by calling the church office; space is limited to 20 guests at the Safford Home Theatre. A $2 donation is suggested to cover the cost of snacks, drinks, and dessert.
