Update to Church Response to COVID-19 Pandemic - November 11, 2020
Our church community's health and welfare is of great importance to us during the COVID-19 pandemic. We continue to offer worship at 10:00 a.m. online through Zoom and have suspended in-person worship at this time. Our church staff is working in the building, as needed.
The office phone is answered at 630.968.7120 during our regular office hours from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The building doors will remain locked at all times during the week.
Church staff can be reached by using email or phone with any questions or needs you may have. If you need to visit the church office, please call first to make an appointment to ensure that a staff member will be available.
Masks will be required in the building at all times.
Meetings and Activities
No in-person meetings, activities, or gatherings are allowed in the church building at this time without prior approval. All DGFUMC in-person indoor activities and events, remain canceled until further notice.
When possible to return to the building, a few outside groups that have requested meeting space and are approved by the ReTurn Team will once again meet. They are required to monitor their own groups and agree to follow the established health instructions and guidelines established by our Health Team.
Our preschool is holding classes and the staff closely follows the guidelines set forth by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
Ongoing
Updates to in-person worship and other gatherings will depend on improvements of cases of COVID-19 in the local area as well as on applicable state and local guidance. As such, restrictions and guidelines may change. We will continue to provide updates by email, on our website, and by mail.
We have a Return Team and a Health Team in place to make decisions. They work with the pastors to plan for safe in-person worship and in-person activities at the church. They have reviewed the ReTurn guidelines from the Northern Illinois Conference as well as those from the Illinois Department of Public Health. We continue to monitor the situation in following the Illinois Department of Public Health, Dupage County Health Department, and State of Illinois guidelines and will keep you updated on this website and by email if and when our situation changes.
We are counting on your continued giving to maintain essential building services, ministries, and staff compensation that help us to maintain our DGFUMC community. You may mail your contributions to the church or click here for online giving.
