Jr High and High School Youth Mission Trips
The First United Methodist Church of Downers Grove has a long tradition of Youth Mission Trips. This year, we started a new tradition in cooperation with our sister church the United Church of Rogers Park.
Jr High: July 19-22, 2009
High School: July 25-31, 2009
The United Church of Rogers Park is a United Methodist Church at Ashland and Morse in Chicago. The name of the church came years ago when it was a united church having both United Church of Christ and United Methodist pastors. Rogers Park is a diverse community with great need. The United Church of Rogers Park serves not only as a church but as a community center for the neighborhood.
Post High School Youth (PHYG) Mission Trip
Putney and Edinburgh, UK: July 5-16, 2009
All former high school students (including this year's seniors) were invited to participate in this unique mission trip to the UK. Working with the Cathedral Camps organization, young people gain a sense of great achievement and empowerment. In this year's trip, the group visited St. Mary's Parish Church in Putney, London and St. Mary's Episcopal Cathedral, Edinburgh.
