Junior High Mission Trip 2008

United Church of Rogers Park

July 13-15, 2008

This is our fourth junior high mission trip! We will be working with the United Church of Rogers Park, 1545 W Morse, a very lively church on Chicago's north side.

Our tasks will include serving at the Sunday Community Feast, painting and cleaning class rooms and hallways. Metra and the "L" will be our means of transportation. The First United Methodist Church of Evanston will be our home for two nights.

What do you need to bring?

Work clothes
Toiletries, including a towel
Sleeping bag
Pillow
Snack to pass

Pack as small as you can! Deliver luggage to DGFUMC on Saturday, July 12 between 9 and 10am.

Who can come?

Students going into 7th, 8th & 9th grades. Yes, you can bring a friend, but only one!

What does it cost?

That includes food, housing, transportation, materials and entertainment.

Permission Slip and Money due on June 29, 2008.

Schedule

Sunday, July 13

You will be commissioned as missionaries early in the 10:00 service. After commissioning we will walk to the DG Main Street station and board the 10:45am to Chicago. Work at UCRP Community Feast and sleep at Evanston First UMC.

Monday, July 14

Paint and clean at UCRP. Dinner out in Evanston.

Tuesday, July 15

Work at UCRP. Arrive at Downers Grove Main Street at 4:23pm .
