Women's Lenten Bible Study

All women are invited to take part in a Lenten Bible study on Thursdays at 10:00 AM. The study will reflect on the events during the last 24 hours of Jesus' life, and how they impact our lives and faith today. (A 10 minute video, Bible reading, and discussion will be included each week, and the sessions will end by 11:00.)

Pastor Greta and Karen Stahlecker will lead the study.

Small Groups are Returning

A decade or so ago, our church offered a variety of small groups to bring together people of shared interests. People took walks, learned Spanish, made stained glass projects, explored photography . . . It was a wonderful way to meet people and to become more involved in the life of the church.

The Stewardship Work Area looks forward to launching this program again after Easter. If you have a skill or interest that you would be willing to share with others by leading a small group, or if you have a great idea for a group that you would like to see offered, please contact Julie Stone.

Wednesday Morning Conversations

DustPastor Jim McDonald is leading a series of discussions based on Rob Bell's Nooma videos on Wednesday mornings at 10am.

NOOMA is a series of short films that are designed to provoke us into a deeper understanding of the teachings of Jesus. Each one covers a different subject, but all are relevant to our daily lives and help us to understand ourselves and our relation to God.

All are welcome to come and join in this informal exploration of our faith.

In God's TimeIn God's Time - The Bible and the Future

Ten Video Lessons by Dr. Craig C. Hill - Discussions led by Pastor Jim beginning Wednesday, January 11th, 2012

Enormous confusion exists today concerning the Bible's teaching about the future. The In God's Time course offers an alternative to sensationalist perspectives, an alternative that is at once faithful and sane, readable and scholarly. Dr. Hill encourages Christians both to take seriously and to think sensibly about God's ultimate victory.

Craig C. Hill is Professor of New Testament at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C., and Director of the Wesley Ministry Network. Devotion to Jesus

The DaVinci Code is only the most successful in a long line of books containing revisionist accounts of Christian origins. In fact, the true story is much more amazing, as Professor Hurtado, one of the world's leading New Testament historians, demonstrates in this important new course.

Devotion to Jesus

An eight-session study on the subject of "Jesus Devotion" in earliest Christianity. For us this will be more like 12-16 sessions as we break materials down to fit our Wednesday evening one hour time slot. Course materials are adaptable to different class lengths. For example, each lesson can easily be split in two to accommodate shorter sessions, such as a 45-minute class.
