Membership in UMW is open to all women of the church. We invite you to join us anytime.

Meetings

Mary Elizabeth Circle

Meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month in the Chapel Hall at 1:00pm. Childcare will be provided upon request.

Rachel Circle

Meets on the fourth Thursday of every month in Chapel Hall at 9:00am. Childcare is provided.

Miriam Circle

Meets on the fourth Thursday of every month in various members' homes at 12:45pm.

Ruth Circle

Meets on the fourth Thursday of every month in Chapel Hall at 12:45pm. Childcare will be provided upon request.

Sarah Circle

Meets on the fourth Monday of every month in Room 213 at 7:00pm.

February Diaper Drive - Thank you!

Thank you to all for the wonderful response to the Sarah Circle Diaper Drive for the PRC! To date, 24 children's diaper boxes (913 diapers) and 2 adult diaper boxes (32 Depends) have been donated. We have two more collection weeks to go - you may drop off donations in the box in the parlor or up by the church office.

PRC will also take "loose" diapers (like the few that are leftover when your child outgrows a size). Simply put them in a bag labeled with the size.

UMW General Meeting

Rev. Steve Good, the Pastor of Sugar Grove Methodist Church, will present our program on “Haiti”. He has visited the country several times leading mission groups and has said that "Haiti gets under your skin, your heart is connected to it in more than a temporary way."

Babysitting is available upon request to the church office.

February Diaper Drive

Sarah Circle is having a February Diaper Drive. Peoples Resource Center in Westmont is in desperate need of diapers for children and adults. Families who acquire weekly supplies at PRC are allocated a handful of diapers at a time.

Donations will be accepted throughout the month at the PRC bin located outside the church office and in a red labelled box located in the church parlor. Please consider helping out with this worthwhile initiative.

United Methodist Women Christmas Tea

Tea ServiceThe United Methodist Women would like to invite you to our Annual Christmas Tea. This year it will be held on Tuesday, December 6 at 1:00 pm in Fellowship Hall. This is a wonderful time of fellowship as we gather for music, refreshments and the installation of the 2012 Mission Team officers.

If you have any questions about the tea, contact Dana Sharrett.

In February we will host a general meeting. It will be a brunch hosted by Rachel Circle on February 9th at 9:30 am. There will be childcare provided. The program will be on Haiti and presented by Rev. Steve Good. Please mark your calendar for this informative event.

UMW Fall General Meeting

The meeting begins at noon as Mary-Elizabeth and Ruth Circles hostess a lunch followed by a program: "Joy to the World: Mission in the Age of Global Christianity" – presented by Verla Boyle and Julie Stone as they share information they learned on the UMW study at the School of Christian Mission this summer.

UMW General Meeting

You are invited to attend the General Meeting of UMW on May 18 at Fairview Village. The meeting will start with refreshments at 7:00pm served by the Miriam and Sarah Circles.

There will be a short business meeting starting at 7:30pm. Our program for the evening will be about the UMW Reading Program presented by Jennifer Segrest. Several of the 2011 books will be reviewed. As always, guests are invited to attend.

Thank you for making the effort to bring your stickers to the church office so that UMW/Sarah circle could buy pots and pans. You may have only had a few to share, but all of them combined, a little over 920, bought a lot of pots and pans. We were able to buy for eleven cents- 5 stock pots and 6 frying pans. The Peoples Resource Center will be delighted to receive our donation.

Pots and Pans for the PRC!

Do you have any extra stickers leftover from the recent pot and pans promotion sponsored by Jewel? Bring them to the church office by this Sunday, Jan. 23rd. Sarah Circle will buy pots to donate to the People's Resource Center, a food pantry located in Westmont. Let's put those extra stickers to work!
