Wesley Heritage TourLondon, Oxford, and Bristol, UKOctober 1-12, 2009Join us on a tour of the UK that explores the roots of the United Methodist Church, visiting sites that were significant in John Wesley's life. The tour will be led by two of our pastors, Rev. Nick Nicholas and Rev. Jonathan Dean. In London, we will visit Wesley's Chapel in the East End. Jonathan served this church as a seminary intern. We will worship there on our first Sunday in London. Whilst at Wesley's Chapel we will visit John Wesley's house, his grave and Bunhill Fields, the nonconformists' cemetery across City Road from the church. Another house of worship that we will visit is St. Mary the Virgin in Putney, London. This is the church where our PHYG mission team has worked. Putney is the birthplace of Oliver Cromwell. We will worship with our friends at St Mary's and learn a bit of the history that binds this church to the United States. We will travel to Oxford to visit the college where the Holy Club was started. The Holy Club became the Methodist movement. In Bristol we will visit the New Room, the oldest Methodist church in the world. Things you need to know...
