Wesley Woods, June 22-26, 2009

Let us "breakthrough" to new ways of seeing people and situations. Campers will hear stories of social outcasts, oppressed peoples, and religiously unclean people whose lives Jesus touched and transformed. Through stories of people such as these who Jesus cared for and welcomed, campers will be challenged to consider the biblical mandate to be a neighbor to all of God’s people!

The First United Methodist Church of Downers Grove is offering a summer camp experience for children and youth who will be entering 2nd through 8th grades in the fall of 2009.

Camp will be held at Wesley Woods Conference Center in Williams Bay, Wisconsin. Wesley Woods is owned and operated by the Northern Illinois Conference.

WHAT DOES CAMP OFFER

Camp offers...

Children and youth the opportunity for fellowship with other children, youth and adults of the church.
Experience of God’s creation while exploring nature!
A chance to experience Christian Community and develop skills for Christian living.

CAMP STAFF

Children and youth will be divided into small groups by age and grade. Each group will be led by at least one adult leader and a high school youth assistant. There will be small group, joint group and camp wide activities. Adults and High school youth from DGFUMC will provide leadership for all activities. There will be time for Bible Study, nature, games, swimming, arts and crafts and camp fire.

The cost includes lodging and meals at Wesley Woods Camp in Williams Bay, WI, bus transportation and program supplies.

Registration for members begins on March 1, 2009.

Registration for non-members begins on April 1, 2009.

A $50 deposit is due at time of registration with payment in full due by June 14, 2009.
