Wesley Woods, June 18-22, 2007

The First United Methodist Church of Downers Grove is offering a summer camp experience for children and youth who in the fall of 2007 will be entering 2nd through 8th grades.

Camp will be held at Wesley Woods Conference Center in Williams Bay, Wisconsin. Wesley Woods is owned and operated by the Northern Illinois Conference.

LET'S JOURNEY TOGETHER

Whether walking, wandering, fleeing, or traveling along the way, the characters in the biblical story are involved in a journey. The image of a journey is a powerful one. Abram took a pilgrim journey to an unknown destination. The Israelites wandered in the wilderness. Jesus and the disciples walked from town to town, spreading the good news. Paul wrote letters that read like the diary of a road trip.

The journey is an image more of process than destination.

WHAT DOES CAMP OFFER

Camp offers...

Children and youth the opportunity for fellowship with other children, youth and adults of the church.
Experience of God’s creation while exploring nature!
A chance to experience Christian Community and develop skills for Christian living.

CAMP STAFF

Children and youth will be divided into small groups by age and grade. Each group will be led by an adult leader and a high school youth assistant. There will be small group, joint group and camp wide activities. Adults and High school youth from DGFUMC will provide leadership for all activities. There will be time for Bible Study, nature, games, swimming, arts and crafts and camp fire.

Cost

Before May 6

$210: 2nd-6th grades
$220: Junior High

After May 6

$240: 2nd-6th grades
$250: Junior High

(Grades refer to Fall 2007)

A $50 deposit is due with the registration form. Full Payment is due June 10. Scholarships and payment plans are available.

The cost includes lodging and meals at Wesley Woods Camp in Williams Bay, WI, bus transportation and program supplies.
