Peace Talks

June 26-30, 2006

The First United Methodist Church of Downers Grove is offering a summer camp experience for children and youth entering 2nd through 8th grades.

Camp will be held at Wesley Woods Conference Center in Williams Bay, Wisconsin. Wesley Woods is owned and operated by the Northern Illinois Conference.

WHAT DOES CAMP OFFER

Camp offers...

Children and youth the opportunity for fellowship with other children, youth and adults of the church.
Experience of God’s creation while exploring nature!
A chance to experience Christian Community and develop skills for Christian living.

Campers will explore Scripture about God’s peace. Combined with each scripture lesson are words for peace from around the world. These words were chosen because they help to describe various aspects of peace. Taken all together, these scripture lessons and words can enlarge our understanding of peace and encourage us to grow as the community of peace that God desires.

CAMP STAFF

Children and youth will be divided into small groups by age and grade. Each group will be led by an adult leader and a high school youth assistant. There will be small group, joint group and camp wide activities. Adults and High school youth from DGFUMC will provide leadership for all activities. There will be time for Bible Study, nature, games, swimming, arts and crafts and camp fire.

Before May 7

$210: 2nd-6th grades
$220: Junior High

After May 7

$220: 2nd-6th grades
$230: Junior High

(Grades refer to Fall 2006)

A $50 deposit is due with the registration form. Full Payment is due June 16 Scholarships and payment plans are available.

The cost includes lodging and meals at Wesley Woods Camp in Williams Bay, WI, bus transportation and program supplies.
