South DuPage CROP Hunger Walk Business Sponsorship

Businesses, churches and other civic organizations are invited to become sponsors of the 26th annual South DuPage CROP Hunger Walk, which will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2011, in Downers Grove, IL.  We are hoping to make this another great year in our efforts to combat hunger. 

Your contribution will help pay for travel mugs given to each walker raising at least $150 and for a large CROP banner which all walkers sign upon completing the walk.  Contributed funds in excess of these costs will go directly to hunger programs financed through the South DuPage CROP Hunger Walk, an arm of Church World Service (CWS).

By becoming a sponsor of the South DuPage CROP Hunger Walk, your organization will benefit from:

1. The publicity of being associated with our local hunger fighting group.
2. Having contributed directly to hunger programs within our community and around the world.
3. Leveraging your contribution by encouraging others to contribute to these same important hunger programs through the incentives that are given away.

There are four different levels of sponsorship. Each level will receive various forms of recognition as detailed below. Note that sponsors at the Patron and Benefactor levels will have their business names listed on travel mugs.  Sponsors at lower levels will be identified in all other publicity and press releases from the South DuPage CROP Hunger Walk. In addition, all sponsors (including Donors) will be listed here on our web site.  The levels of support are as follows:

Last year, twelve local sponsors contributed $3,604 (See our Results Page for details). These contributions in combination with funds raised by over 230 CROP walkers from local schools, civic organizations and churches totaled more than $27,100 for hunger programs in 2010.

In DuPage County, over 40,000 persons suffer periodically from hunger each year. In the five towns of Downers Grove, Westmont, Darien, Woodridge and Lisle which comprise the South DuPage CROP Hunger Walk, more than 3,300 families are regularly in need of food assistance. You can help our campaign and your organization by becoming a sponsor of the South DuPage CROP Hunger Walk. Over the 25 years of our existence, the South DuPage CROP Hunger Walk has raised over $600,000 with over $150,000 going to local hunger relief agencies.
