How can you help? Join Debbie, John, and the DGFUMC team on the South DuPage CROP Walk! This annual event is a 5 and 10-km walk that raises money for hunger programs of the Church World Service and many local charities, including our own PADS site (see the South DuPage CROP Walk Home Page for more details). Last year, nearly seventy walkers from our church raised more than $10,000. This year, our goal is to enlist 100 walkers and to raise $12,000. Join us for a pleasant afternoon walk and help us to eliminate hunger throughout the world.

How to Join

Pick up a donation envelope from the church parlor between Sunday services or from the church office. Then:

1. Fill in the names of all those who sponsor you, and the amount, on the envelope.
2. Sign the STATEMENT OF CONSENT on the envelope. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian to sign as well.
3. Bring the envelope with the money when you come to the walk.
4. If you haven't collected all the pledges, tear off the top sheet and bring that to the walk instead. It is important that you hand in the signed STATEMENT OF CONSENT before you walk. Return the pledges when you have collected them to the church office.
5. Bring canned goods to the walk for donation to a local food pantry.
6. Wear something red to show you are a member of the DGFUMC team!
7. Please note that you must return any donation envelope to the church office even if you do not obtain any donations or are unable to walk. CROP Walk needs to be able to account for every envelope that is signed out.

Online Registration

It is now possible to register on the internet in order to receive credit card pledges online. You can do this either in addition to or instead of collecting donations by hand.

1. Visit the DGFUMC Team Page or the DGFUMC Youth Team Page.
2. Click to "Join Our Team".
3. Read the "STATEMENT OF CONSENT". You must click "I agree" in order to register and participate in the CROP Walk. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete registration and set up your special page.
4. Then you are ready to e-mail friends and relatives, asking them to get involved with you in the CROP Walk and to sponsor you to make a difference in the world.

How to Pledge

If you know someone participating in the CROP Walk, please sponsor them to support efforts to eliminate hunger in the world. In addition to supporting them directly, it is now possible to give your pledges online.

1. Visit the DGFUMC Team Page or the DGFUMC Youth Team Page.
2. Click on the name of the person you want to sponsor in the team list. If you want to sponsor Debbie or John, click one of the links at the side of this page to go directly to their personal page.
3. Enter a donation, click "Continue" and follow the on-screen instructions to enter your credit card details.
4. Thank you for helping to make a difference in the world.
