Our MissionSamaritan Interfaith Counseling Center exists to alleviate suffering, facilitate change, and bring about mental, emotional and spiritual healing and growth to persons of diverse backgrounds and varied financial means through pastoral counseling/psychotherapy, consultation and education/training. Combining the efforts of board, staff, congregations, and community, Samaritan provides hope. Our HistoryIn 1971, three Naperville churches established Samaritan Interfaith Counseling Center. Over the years, the dream of these visionary churches has developed into a valuable mental health resource in the community helping over 5,000 people last year alone. In 2004, this ministry has expanded with the opening of a new branch office within DGFUMC. This new location will make services more accessible to residents of eastern DuPage County and surrounding areas. "Samaritan Interfaith has always had a strong connection with local faith communities, and we very much value our relationship with First United Methodist Church. We look forward to serving the community and furthering relationships in the Downers Grove area," said Dr. Scott Mitchell, Executive Director of Samaritan Interfaith. |
