Foundations Class

Time 9:30am to 10:30am
Description Presented by Mary Winiecki. Mary Magdalene had a complicated relationship with Jesus, with History and with the Church. We'll explore these along with the Gospel of Mary (a Gnostic Gospel). Discussions on these will be on two Sunday morning sessions, April 11 and April 18.

Session I
What is the first image that comes to mind when you think of Mary Magdalene? What does the Bible actually say about her? What picture does the Gospel of Mary (a Gnostic gospel) display? What view of change in the church does this Gospel present? Join us to explore these issues.

Session II
Mary Magdalene's practice and definition of Christianity was quite different than our own. Join us for an examination of her historical image as sen in artwork through the ages, as well as her view of spirituality and it's place in our own world and church.
